The Bar-Kays arrived on the scene in 1966 bringing soul, R&B and funk to the masses with hits “Soul Finger,” “Son of Shaft” and “Boogie Body Land.” They began as the house band for Stax Records, backing artists like Otis Redding and Isaac Hayes. Now, more than 40 years later, their songs are still featured in movies like “Spies Like Us” and “Superbad.”
