Why did you decide to get into the spa/beauty industry?
I was scheduled for a back surgery. I had unbearable back pain that affected my sleep and overall health. A friend told me about a massage therapist. He was my first massage ever. He was a former NFL football player. I couldn’t get on the table. He had to help me. After an hour of deep tissue massage, he took 80% of my pain away. I got off the table by myself. That’s when I said I want to do the same thing for others.

What do you like most about your job?
To see the change on the guest’s faces. When they walk through the doors with pain, fatigue, restlessness, seeking relaxation and a place to get away from it all. When they leave and they say thank you with a smile on their faces. Then I validate their smile with a smile of my own.

What is your personal favorite treatment/service on the Spa Ssakwa’q’n menu and why?
The Palouse Prairie massage. It is a customized full body massage. It’s great for relaxation and blood flow. It’s awesome for the tension relief.
