Coeur d’Alene Casino announces winners of Barbecue Cook-Off Rib Fest!

WORLEY, Idaho (August 27, 2019) — Local chefs faced off in the name of barbecue and philanthropy on Sunday in Coeur d’Alene Casino’s Chinook Meadow. A total of $6,105.00 was donated to local charities. “We are so grateful to our partner the Inlander and our wonderful sponsors for supporting a fun event that is helping worthy charities in our area,” said Laura Stensgar, Strategic Brand Director at Coeur d’Alene Casino. “Our fourth annual cook off was a success with great music, delicious barbecue, craft beer and good company.”

Nordic Smoke BBQ Products took home first place in the cook-off. Their charity of choice is Every Woman Can in Spokane, Wash. A check totaling $4,605 will be presented to the organization. The 2019 People’s Choice award went to One Night Stand BBQ whose charity of choice, Spokane Humane Society, will receive $578.

The Inlander Local Celebrity Barbecue Duel featuring Laura Papetti of KREM 2 Morning News Anchor and Richard Fox, Broadcaster and former Gonzaga player ended with a win for Laura’s charity Tom’s Turkey Drive for $500. Richard’s charity Providence Health Care Foundation will receive $200.

The event featured music from The Powers Band and was emceed by Tom Sherry, Chief Meteorologist, 4pm News Anchor and grilling superstar, KREM 2. The annual cook-off would not be possible without the help of the Inlander, Tickets West, KREM 2, Wallace Brewing, Food Services of America and Farmland.
