Coeur d’Alene Casino Appoints New Executive Director of Marketing and Director of Public Affairs and Cultural Tourism

New leadership at Idaho’s premier casino resort reflects company growth  

WORLEY, Idaho (Oct. 26, 2017) — Coeur d’Alene Casino has announced the addition of Petra Nielsen as executive director of marketing and promotion of Laura Stensgar to director of public affairs and cultural tourism, a new position for the property.

Petra Nielsen brings more than 20 years of marketing experience to Coeur d’Alene Casino, having harnessed her passion for strategy to create a greater impact for the companies she represents. Nielsen’s previous experience includes work as Vice President of Marketing at Harrah’s Metropolis and Director of Marketing at Route 66 Casino Hotel. In her new role at Coeur d’Alene Casino, Nielsen will be directing brand strategy, developing and implementing overall marketing strategy including campaigns, events, digital marketing and much more.

Laura Stensgar will be stepping into a new role as director of public affairs and cultural tourism, a position that was created as part of a strategic effort to expand cultural tourism. Stensgar served as Executive Marketing Director for Coeur d’Alene Casino since inception 1993. She created and developed the promotional strategies and marketing techniques that helped launch the casino towards profitability. As director of public affairs and cultural tourism, Stensgar will develop and implement a broad range of public relations efforts, evaluate and integrate strategic communications to increase awareness of programs and priorities.
