Coeur d’Alene Casino Announces Coeur Connections with Pay it Forward Promotion

WORLEY, Idaho (June 9, 2020) – Coeur d’Alene Casino’s new charity initiative “Coeur Connections” launched Friday, May 15 with the Spring Pay it Forward promotion. The initiative highlights existing giving while expanding support of non-profits, schools, organizations and deserving individuals.
“Though we are starting to see positive momentum as our local economy rebuilds, these are still very difficult times and we felt that this was a great opportunity to expand our charity initiatives and find new ways to give back to our community,” said Laura Stensgar CEO of Coeur d’Alene Casino. “Giving is a part of our culture and represents our Coeur Values, we were fortunate to be able to continue to pay our employees during our closure, Coeur Connections is a way for us to lend a hand to more people in our community.”
Spring Pay it Forward Promotion
Coeur d’Alene Casino partnered with Stephens Media Group (93.7 The Mountain, 103.9 Bob FM, 94.1 The Bear and KEY FM 101) for the Spring Pay it Forward promotion which runs through June 12. The promotion will feature three different phases.
During the first phase which ran from May 15 to 29 the Pay it Forward team randomly selected people at grocery stores, gas stations and various businesses in Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, St. Maries and Plummer to fully cover the cost of their purchase.
The second phase of Pay it Forward was from May 29 to June 7 and was carried out at Coeur d’Alene Casino where guests were randomly selected and surprised with fully comped food, fuel and even lodging.
And finally, from May 29 to June 12, Coeur d’Alene Casino will be donating $10,000 in the form of $250 Visa or Mastercard gift cards to 40 deserving individuals. Applications to apply or nominate an individual will be on each radio station website.
Coeur d’Alene Casino’s History of Giving
When the casino was first opened as a bingo hall in 1993 the Coeur d’Alene Tribal leaders made a commitment that five percent of all gaming profits would go toward public schools and education across the state of Idaho. To date that commitment has surpassed $33.3 million.
In 2019 Coeur d’Alene Casino continued its commitment by hosting fundraising events, volunteering and donating to area causes.
The annual BBQ Cookoff in August raised $6,100 for local charities of the winner’s choice. Winter Blessing returned in December to celebrate the season, honor traditions and to give a total of $20,000 to charities and deserving individuals.
Several gaming promotions were turned in to fundraisers including Go Pink which raised $5,270 for the Kootenai Health Foundation and Thankful Thursdays raised $3,366 for Second Harvest Food Bank.
The property also participates in other worthy causes. During Tools 2 Schools Coeur d’Alene Casino donated $10,000 to provide backpacks filled with supplies to financially challenged schools. Tom’s Turkey Drive received $3,000 towards Thanksgiving meals for families in need and Blessings Under the Bridge was given $10,000 to sponsor two events where staff volunteered their time serving food to the homeless and less fortunate.
