Professional Golf and Live Entertainment Return to Coeur d’Alene Casino this August

WORLEY, Idaho (July 23, 2021) — They’re back! Entertainment is in full swing this August at Coeur d’Alene Casino with the beginning of the Coeur Stars lineup kicking off with Bill Engvall (Aug. 5) and Grits & Glamour: Lorrie Morgan & Pam Tillis (Aug. 19). Rounding out the month, some of the top, up-and-coming female golfers will compete at the Circling Raven Championship, presented by KXLY Channel 4 News, a Symetra “Road to the LPGA Tour” event.

Comedian, actor and writer Bill Engvall, best known for his work on Blue Collar Comedy Tour and Them Idiots Whirled Tour, returns to Coeur d’Alene Casino Thursday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. As an author Engvall is known for “You Don’t Have to Be Dumb to Be Stupid” and “Here’s Your Sign.” He made it to the big screen in “Delta Farce” and starred in the “The Bill Engvall Show.” Engvall’s most recent work includes the Netflix comedy special “Just Sell Him For Parts” and horror movie “The Neighbor” as well as his newest show “Blue Collar Auction.”  Tickets start at $40.

Grits & Glamour: Lorrie Morgan and Pam Tillis will grace the Coeur d’Alene Casino stage with their classics like Tillis’ “Maybe it was Memphis” and “Mi Vida Loca” and Morgan’s “Something in Red” and “Except for Monday” as well as new original music. The show is loosely scripted with good-natured ribbing and off-the-cuff remarks. The country duo are backed by some of Nashville’s finest musicians and singers making for a night of laughter and great music. Tickets start at $50.

The Circling Raven Championship is set for Aug. 23-29 featuring some of the world’s best female golfers. The event will feature a full field of competitors vying for their piece of the $200,000 purse. Spectator passes are now on sale. Single-day passes are just $5 or enjoy the full week-long tournament for $20. Two-day and three-day passes are also available.

Chinook recently reopened with a refreshed name and updated menu designed by local culinary legend Adam Hegsted. The new menu includes an updated cocktail program adding 10 craft cocktails that can be enjoyed while listening to live music at the Chinook Lounge Fridays and Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Lifeways Workshop “Make Your Own” Bead Wrapped Rope Necklace or Bracelets – Aug.  6

Adornment is highly valued by the Coeur d’Alene people and to this day beautifully crafted necklaces, chokers, earrings and bracelets are worn. The workshop on Friday, Aug. 6 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. focuses on ornamentation worn by Coeur d’Alene Tribal people. The 6-hour workshop will be guided by Coeur d’Alene Tribal member artist Leanne Campbell to create a bead-wrapped rope necklace or bracelet set. The workshop is $45 per person and includes all materials and dinner.

Kayaking and Canoeing Tour – Aug. 18
This tribal-guided tour departs from Chatcolet Day Use Area and meanders up to Plummer Marsh. Enjoy wildlife viewing and bird watching while learning the history of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes and Heyburn State Park. The tour is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kayaks, life jackets, and lunch included for $60 per person.
