Coeur d’Alene Casino Announces New Director of Marketing

WORLEY, Idaho (March 3, 2020) –Coeur d’Alene Casino has welcomed Yvette Matt as director of marketing. She’s part of the leadership team at the tribal property where the majority of executive and management roles are held by women.

In November 2019 Laura Stensgar took the helm as chief executive officer, the property’s first ever female CEO and one of only a handful in the industry. The female leadership is seen across the property in departments including hotel, spa, human resources, IT, gaming floor, and marketing.

“We are building a team not based on gender but on skill, expertise, dedication and passion,” said Stensgar. “I’m proud of where we’ve been and where we are going, it’s a happy coincidence that a strong group of female leaders are going to help get us there.”

Matt’s name may sound familiar, she previously held the same title at Coeur d’Alene Casino. She is back after a short hiatus to enjoy some hotter weather where she served as special events and promotions manager at San Manuel Casino in California.

“It was a great experience and I’m excited to bring back some fresh, new, fun ideas and change it up a bit,” said Matt. “Although my daughter Stormy and I loved it there, this is our home and where we belong. We are happy to be back.”

Matt began her career at Coeur d’Alene Casino after graduating from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in marketing and finance. Matt quickly climbed through the ranks working her way from box office manager to player development to event manager. In 2012 she transitioned into a leadership role in marketing, ultimately contributing her experience and talents as a director. She earned her Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix in 2005.

“To say we are excited to have Yvette’s energy, passion and sense of humor back is an understatement,” said Stensgar. “She brings innate knowledge of the property and our goals and we look forward to continuing to redefine, empower and contribute.”

In her new role, Matt will be directing brand strategy, developing and implementing overall marketing strategy including campaigns, events, digital marketing and more.
